Constance Hunting, who died a few years ago, was an English professor at the University of Maine/Orono and the founder/editor of the Puckerbrush Review. An accomplished poet and literary critic, she wrote a number of books as well as editing May Sarton: Woman and Poet and May Sarton at Eighty.

Hunting contacted me in the early 1980s to ask if I would contribute a bibliography to the book May Sarton: Woman and Poet. At that time there were few critical books devoted to Sarton who had been writing and publishing since 1930. I was grateful to be asked to participate in Hunting's project as it highlighted my own bibliographic work on Sarton.

Constance Hunting became a good friend and mentor to me and I miss her lively spirit.
